It sounds like you are leaving vox....so sorry to see you leave the hood.
Thanks for all your posts & notes. You have great talent & I'm sure your web adventures will continue with great success ;o)
i've linked you from my new blog space!

I can't say as I blame you. Dave and I have been working on our Wordpress blogs and will in due time make the switch. I don't mind VOX for what it is, but my audience is too inclusive. I like to write, but I don't like to think that my audience is so small :D I would like other people outside of VOX like family and friends to make comments on my blog without having to become a member.

I also kinda don't like the idea of choosing people to put in my neighborhood because sometimes, unfortunately, I realize I've made a mistake by adding someone I'm not particularly interested. If I could do it over, I wonder if I would have added people to my neighborhood at all! I would have just preferred to meander about and comment regularly on people's blogs. However, then there is the issue of keeping track!

[this is good]
This is exactly why I'm leaving. While I love it here on vox, and actually think the product is better than a lot of services out there, its too insular. Most of my friends and family do not blog, don't care about blogging and only want to read what I write and post a comment every now and then - for them, me being on vox is not appropriate, unfortunately, I also, like the idea of reaching out to a wider audience.

The neighbourhood issue is a tricky one. I love it, but it also gives me grief too. For a long while, I didn't add people to my hood because of them time drain it put on me.... and that's proved to be so true in recent months. My life outside the net has been picking up and I simply don't have the time to blog and be sociable. It sounds awful, but its true. But on the other side, I've 'met' a load of wonderful people, made friends, and its sad to leave that behind.

I think the more the web turns into this huge social network the more we will continue to have this push-pull dilemma. For me, I'm gonna have to bail out for now.
awww, I just started reading ur stuff tho! Oh well... I'll visit ur website for you!

I think you make a wise choice. It's better though, I think, if you can simply have people write and respond to your posts rather than add or delete them as neighbors. Because it becomes too personal to people you may not care to be all that personal with in the first place.

However, there are people I've met and made connections with and continue on such a friendly basis.

but, are you still going to have your Vox?
I know, I feel the same way too - you have some interesting stuff on your blog and I was looking forward to catching it :)

The blog will remain here, and I'll check in every now and again, but I won't be spending any real time on it, unfortunately, I've spent too much time online over the past year and my real life is suffering as a result :(

Thanks for dropping by and keep in touch! :))
Hello Crimson, well, sorry you´re leaving, but I shall add your new blog to my favourite so I can always take a look there. I wanna stay in touch!!!!!
How exciting, a new home! I'll drop by and have a look on my lunchbreak if that's ok. I'll miss your observations on Vox but I'm glad to hear that your social life is on the up. If only I had the same luck....!!
Thank you so much - and sorry for the late reply, I've been completely absent from the net for nearly a month! I'll continue to look out for your posts. Keep in touch :) x
I will do and I'll be keeping an eye on your new location!!
